Right now I’m currently loving the Pixi glow tonic. I’m really hesitant to recommend any skincare product UNLESS it has really wowed me. So as far as the Pix toner goes– I can tell the difference in my skin when I do not use this product. The glow is unreal.
As far as favorite skincare lines go I really enjoy using Pixi, The Ordinary, Farmacy and Beauty Counter.

A good mascara and blush. I think they both go a long way to helping you look polished even

Who is your Fiance?
The incredible Aaron James. He is an engineer in Houston, Tx and is also from Louisiana.
Where did you and Aaron meet?
Bumble! I highly recommend. Our first date was on February 15, 2017 and it was a whopping EIGHT hours. Even though for the first part of the date Aaron talked my ear off and I sat there in silence wondering when he was going hush his mouth. We both eventually got over the nerves and ended up talking the night away and having a blast! We have been inseparable since!
Tell us more about your time in Uganda?
Wow. Where to begin? This needs to be a separate blog post! I first became introduced to Uganda after randomly being asked to accompany a single woman on a trip their back in 2013. I left feeling a connection to the people there that left me wanting to do more and be more involved. I knew the downfall of what can happen to communities when missionaries become involved so I wanted to make sure that if I was to go back I was going for the RIGHT reasons and choosing an organization that was there to empower the Ugandan people. That is how I found Sixty Feet. I signed on as a worker/volunteer for one year and on April 22, 2015 I moved 8,000 miles away from my family. For a girl who loves her hometown and never had the desire to move out of Louisiana, this was a pretty big deal!
It was definitely the hardest time in my life, I made some decisions that I was not proud of but it also taught me how to stand on my own two feet and that I was made of tougher stuff than I realized. I’m proud of myself for working my tail off for the children I was serving and the friendships and bonds I made along the way.
What’s the first step to being a missionary/working overseas?
This may also need to be a whole blog post. I would say the first step is to really check yourself. Is this something you think about nonstop? What’s your why? Could you write a paper about it? Is it just for some spiritual awakening or are you ready to SERVE? Do you have anyone who you are close to who is a different race, religion, ethnicity, socio-economic status than you? Have you ever experienced being in the minority in a social gathering? Have you read the book When Helping Hurts? Have you done any research about the privilege your race and socio-economic status gives you? These are just some of the beginning questions I would ask myself. I do believe one of the greatest gifts ever is being privileged enough to travel the world and so many of us have the desire to help those who weren’t born with the same opportunity as ourselves. I do believe that if you have this desire, that is amazing! But first you must ask yourself those hard questions and really take a look at your why and how.
