I am so glad you found your way over to The Good Carma Blog!! This is my little corner of goodness in the world where I share everything from beauty and style to my journey to a more sustainable lifestyle. I started this blog and community so that I could help other women by sharing my experiences. In the past few years I have become a stronger and more confident person. For a long time I believed negative lies about myself that led to me hiding my light and closing myself off to all the goodness life had to offer. I definitely do not have it all figured out and still have hard days, but I want to be here as an encourager and helper for anyone who might be in the same position I was in at one time. My goal is to be a source of realness and a bright spot in your day and on the internet.
Some of you may already know a little bit about me, but in case you do not here’s a quick rundown. My name is Carmen, and I was raised in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. I am currently a Montessori teacher in Baton Rouge but will soon be moving to Houston, Texas to be with my fiance! We have been together for the past 3 1/2 years and have been dating long distance for the past 1 1/2 years. We are both so excited to finally be in the same city together!
I lived in Kampala, Uganda for a little over a year in 2015-2016 and worked with a non-profit organization that aided imprisoned children. I have a passion for social justice causes and you may hear me share about these from time to time. I am a big believer in using your voice for good and always try my best to advocate for those people who have no one else.
If you watch my instagram stories you may catch me dancing, painting, and sharing ridiculous videos I find to be funny. I am an okay cook but my calling is not in the kitchen, my fiance loves to cook so this works out perfectly. I can become a bit obsessed with organization and home decor, so don’t be surprised if you see some posts about that around here as well.
As I was saying before, I try my best to be an open book. I believe in the power of vulnerability because I see how it has altered my life for the better. I have struggled in the past with depression and have had to overcome the harmful mindset I had become accustomed to. I want the same for every woman and that’s why I share my struggles and victories.
I am so excited and happy you’re here! If you want to learn more you can visit my About Me or FAQ page. I’d love to learn more about you too! Comment below and let me know where you’re from and a little bit about your life!
xo,
Carmen
